Principal's Message

Dear Hiseville Families,

How exciting this year has been as our students have already been in school for approximately seven weeks. In your child’s classes we are seeing great work and can’t wait to see the gains they make this school year. We had some great participation in our events this September and would like to thank everyone who has volunteered. If you would like to be a parent volunteer you may contact your child's homeroom teacher. There will need to be a parent volunteer form filled out and Mrs. Mary Shannon Coomer will be in contact with you when we have needs, as she is our volunteer coordinator.

A big thank you for your support with our PTO fundraiser. With the help of your child and you, our school sold over $7,000 of Krispy Kreme doughnut items. This has been huge, and will be used to assist our teachers to provide the best opportunities for your children. Our Grandparent Days were great successes. It was so good to see all of our families joining in and supporting our students. Family Literacy night is always fun! It was a great way to add literacy into your house and it really helped kick off our book fair. The money raised will support our Library to get new and exciting books while also helping make our library and STEAM classes that much more exciting. We hope each child was able to bring home some new and exciting books for you to enjoy with them.

For the month of August, our school started off with a great attendance of 97.05%; that is awesome! In September, our school had an average attendance of 95.47%. Our goal is to maintain 97% attendance, and we are so close. Congratulations to 6th grade for having 97.66% attendance for the month of September. Thank you for making sure your child is at school.

Sincerely,

Jonathan DeVore
