Students in Mr. Drury’s 7th grade science classes were excited to participate in a hands-on frog dissection lab. They did an excellent job exploring frog anatomy and making connections to the concepts and body systems we have studied in class. It was a great opportunity for students to apply their learning through real-world scientific investigation!

All 8th grade students have been working on their Profile of a Trojan presentations in their English classes the last few weeks. This presentation gave them an opportunity to demonstrate how they have mastered all of the attributes within Profile of a Trojan throughout their middle school career. Here are a few pictures from Ms. Thompson's classes as they presented to 7th grade social studies classes.

Mr. Hensley's 7th graders rolled up their sleeves today for a classic middle school milestone: frog dissection! This hands-on lab was the perfect way to make connections to our Body Systems unit.

By exploring the anatomy of the frogs, students were able to make amazing real-world connections to the human body systems we’ve been studying all year. It’s one thing to read about organs in a textbook, but seeing how they all fit and function together in real life is a completely different experience!

So proud of our brave and curious young scientists today.

This year, 7th grade Science students learned about cells and body systems. To expand their learning of the organs in the body and how they work together, students are currently dissecting frogs. Students in Mrs. Earls class have located the organs so far, and will do more exploration in the coming days.

Today, we are honoring our school nurse, Bethany King,
At Barren County Middle School, we know that students learn best when they are healthy, safe, and supported. Nurse King is at the heart of that mission every single day. Whether she’s treating a scraped knee, managing complex health needs, or just offering a kind word and a steady presence, her impact on our Trojan family is immeasurable.
Thank you, Nurse King, for your dedication, your expertise, and the compassionate care you provide to our students and staff.
