The Barren County School District recently announced the 2026 Teachers of the Year. We would like to congratulate our BCMS educators who are among the 2026 district Teachers of the Year. We are so proud of Susie High, Middle School Teacher of the Year, Jessica Gray Peters, Literacy Teacher of the Year, and Donna Jones, Diversity Teacher of the year.

BCMS students may enjoy wearing a hat during the school day on Tuesday, February 17th by paying a dollar to support the BCMS Ambassador program.
Recently, Mrs. Mouser led a lesson in Mrs. Woods class .The activity targeted using effective communication skills that might be needed to work in food service or delivery service at this time of year (Valentine's Day). Students were given the opportunity to follow directions, retell the sequence needed to complete the task, and then practice social skills. Once the product was completed, each student selected staff members to surprise with a sweet treat!

Workouts tonight Wednesday, February 4th for 8th grade from 7:30-9:30.
Workouts for 7th grade will be on Thursday, February 5th from 7:30-9:30.
TRYOUTS for 8th grade will be on Friday, February 6th from 7:30-9:30.
TRYOUTS for 7th grade will be on Saturday, February 7th from 3:30-6:00.
Workouts are not mandatory. TRYOUTS ARE MANDATORY.
You must have a KHSAA sports physical turned into the office or to me.
We ask that during tryouts there should be no parents or families in the JROTC building.
Bring all your baseball equipment please. Thank you to everyone for your patience.

Congratulations to our talented and hard working BCMS Cheer Team. They placed second in their division and fourth in the Game Day Competition at the National Cheerleading Championship in Orlando! This group did an awesome job of representing BCMS.

BCMS Beta Club will be hosting a Valentine's Day Dance after school on Friday, February 13, until 5 PM. Admission is $10, or students can donate 2 of the listed items for a discount on admission of $5. Concessions will be available for purchase via cash, and ticket sales will take place the week of at Mr. Henlsey's room.

The Saturday and Sunday shows of The Music Man have been postponed AGAIN until NEXT Saturday and Sunday--February 7 (at 7pm) and February 8 (at 3pm). Our parking lots on campus are still ice-covered, and we are concerned for everyone's safety.

Tickets originally purchased for Saturday will automatically transfer to Saturday, February 7, and tickets originally purchased for Sunday will automatically transfer to Sunday, February 8.
